Do you love your city? Then why not help visitors love it too?
If you love Switzerland, enjoy meeting people from around the world and would like to share with visitors your part of Switzerland, SwissGreeter.com has just the volunteer opportunity for you!
- A Greeter takes a visitor on an informal, unscripted walk through neighborhoods the Greeter knows well.
- Greeters share personal stories and favorite spots.
Your knowledge of any ethnic areas and off the beaten track neighborhoods is a plus.
Knowledge of foreign languages is also helpful.
Swissgreeter.com welcomes all volunteers without regard to race, color, creed, gender, age, sexual orientation, marital status or disability.
- Greeters are indemnified against personal liability for any acts conducted within the scope of these responsibilities; however, SwissGreeter.com is not responsible for activities outside these responsibilities. Therefore, if a Greeter exceeds these limitations, SwissGreeter.com is not liable.
- Greeters take visitors through their favorite neighborhoods, visiting ethnic and specialty stores, food shops, historic buildings, etc. Greeters also educate visitors on using public transportation. Meeting from 1-4 people at a time, Greeters make visitors fell welcome, comfortable and excited about our country.
- Greeters must be available at least 1 day per month for at least 4 hours per visit ( If possible). Visits must start between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM. You may accompany visitors in any area of the selected city / region, but meeting locations are usually in the cities and always in a public place. Visits are conducted 365 days a year: rain or shine, wind or snow!
Benefits of Becoming a Greeter:
Greeters have the opportunity to show pride in Switzerland and impact its economy. If you speak a foreign language, you'll have the opportunity to use it. Plus, making new friends from all over the world is exciting! While you're teaching your new friends about your region, you'll learn about their culture, and why they love their / your city or country.
